  • TA – Terminal adapter

    A device that serves to convert an ISDN line to a classical analogue line.

  • TCP – Transmission Control Protocol

    A protocol operating on the fourth level of the OSI model (transport layer). It provides for creating the transport service and the connection (a reliable protocol).

  • TCP/IP – Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol

    A collective name for the world's most used set of protocols for communication on computer networks. Its name is derived from the most important protocols of this group (TCP Transmission Control Protocol and IP Internet Protocol).

  • TE – Terminal equipment

    An ISDN terminal device which may be connected to a network (e.g. telephone or fax).

  • Telnet

    A protocol from the TCP/IP protocol set for remote access to servers.

  • Traceroute

    A program that provides packet tracing along its path until reaching its destination. It is used for debugging routing issues.
